DALLAS (AP) - Six people are hurt after a chain of collisions on
the Interstate 30 bridge over the Trinity River west of downtown
Dallas.
The sequence began when a tractor-trailer rig slammed into the
rear of a cement truck. The impact flipped the cement truck over
the center barrier and crashing into an oncoming 18-wheeler and
four passenger vehicles.
Dallas County sheriff's spokeswoman Kim Leach says the Thursday
afternoon crash shut down the vital Dallas freeway interstate in
both directions for six hours before it was reopened about 7 p.m
Leach says the injured were in the passenger vehicles. Six were
taken to Dallas hospitals, two in critical condition.
She said they are still investigating what caused the
collision.
