One person was arrested in a Tuesday afternoon Gregg County drug bust.

Sherman Lamont Edwards, 31, of Dallas was arrested and charges with the manufacturing of a controlled substance.

Just after noon on Tuesday, July 16th, Deputy Tracy Freeman observed a speeding vehicle traveling east bound on Interstate 20.

Freeman turned on his emergency lights and a black SUV attempted to evade the stop by exiting on Estes Parkway and driving a short distance to the back of a motel parking lot.

Freeman located the vehicle and found Edwards who had no driver license.

Upon arresting Edwards, Deputy Freeman located a plastic bag containing 120 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of over $10,000.00.



Edwards was transported to the Gregg County Jail and no bond has been set at this time.
