2 arrested, 1 on the loose in ETX trailer theft
Bowie County, Texas (KETK) — Two men have been arrested and one is still on the loose in connection with an East Texas trailer theft.
Jamie Clark Choate, 50 , and Tracy Wayne Delese, 47, both of Texarkana, Texas were arrested and taken to the Bi-State Jail where they were charged with Theft Over $500 and Under $1500.
On Tuesday, Sheriff James Prince was driving through the Echo Hills subdivision when he noticed a truck had passed him twice driving in different directions. A short time later, this same vehicle came up behind Prince while he was driving down Bowie Parkway.
He pulled over and let the truck pass him. Prince noticed that the truck was now towing a trailer that it was not pulling when it passed him earlier.Then, the truck turned into the Tex America properties.
Prince continued to follow the truck thinking they may be workers at this site. The truck made several turns and it became obvious to the truck did not belong in this area. He called for a deputy to come stop this truck to find out what they were doing. Deputy Randall Baggett responded to the area and turned on his emergency lights to stop the truck. The truck fled, turned on another road, and then into a driveway.
The driver of the vehicle fled on foot and was able to avoid capture. Choate and Delese were found in the vehicle and after the registered owner of the trailer confirmed the trailer was stolen, were arrested.
Their bonds have been set at $5,000 each.
he driver of this truck has been identified as Michael Scott Ingram, 33 . A warrant for Theft Over $500 and Under $1500 has been issued for Scott’s arrest.
