Lufkin, Texas (KETK) —
Two people have been arrested in the death of an eight-week-old infant, Friday, in Lufkin.
Dequisha Jackson, 18, and Isaiah Tolliver, 19, were arrested on charges on abandonment, endangerment and criminal negligence, Wednesday morning.
On Thursday, at 10:00 a.m., in the 1500 block of Williams Street, police say Jackson called 911 telling officials her baby was unresponsive.
An ambulance took the emaciated baby, who weighed 5.6 pounds, to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The child weighed nearly a half-pound more at birth.
Jackson and Tolliver have been booked into the Angelina County Jail and their bonds have been set at $25,000.
