2 Bossier City day care workers charged with cruelty to children
Bossier City, LA (KMSS) — Two Bossier City day care workers have been arrested on charges of mistreating children they were taking care of.
The reported abuse occurred in June at Bossier City day care, Bellaire Learning Center, in the 1200 block of Bellaire Boulevard. Tammi Hilliard, 28, and Doris Williams, 49, both of Bossier City, were charged with cruelty to a juvenile.
The initial report of allegations came after a child in their care came home with a facial bruise. The daycare surveillance video was reviewed and officials confirm Hilliard threw a toy, hitting the child in the face. The toy throwing incident led to further investigation of videos which ultimately led to Hilliard and Williams being terminated.
Bossier City Police say the video shows the women being rough with kids, jerking them by their arms and continually spanking them.
The ages of the children involved range from one to three-years-old.
Hilliard and Williams were both also charged with battery.
Both suspects were booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and bond has been set at $15,000 a piece.
