Nacogdoches County, Texas (KETK) — The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office has arrested three people in connection with an April, 2014, drive-by shooting.
On April 12, 2014, deputies were dispatched to the area of Country Road 521 where a vehicle was shot at while driving down the road.
The shooting also occurred in front of several homes where children were playing outside.
Investigators have arrested Nathan Hernandez, 22, David Ortiz, 18, and Cesar Padilla, 20, all of Nacogdoches, in connection with the crime.
All three men have been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity. Additional charges were also brought against Hernandez after deputies discovered a 16-year-old runaway from Montgomery County being hidden at his house.
Officials are investigating this case as an ongoing gang related shooting, as all suspects in the case have been identified as known gang members.
