4 arrested in ETX 4-wheeler theft ring, 1 still at large
Nacogdoches County, Texas (KETK) —
The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office has filed charges on six people from Nacogdoches in connection with an ongoing theft ring of four wheelers that occurred between the months of July and September of 2013.
Jay Coutee, 17, Christopher Randall 17, Jason Briley, 17, and two 16-year-old juveniles, have been arrested for the offense of engaging in organized criminal activity. A warrant has also been issued for the arrest of Andrew Sanders, 17, for the same offense.
Since July, officials have been investigating the theft of five four-wheelers taken from a motorcycle park on Farm to Market Road 225.
Investigators recovered four of the all- terrain vehicles in Nacogdoches County and one at a home in Rusk County.
The stolen four-wheelers that have been recovered and valued at $35,000. All property will be returned to the rightful owners.
Bridges tells KETK, most of the suspects in these cases have cooperated with the investigation and helped identify where some of the four-wheelers were being stored.
The juveniles were arrested and taken to the detention center. Three other suspects were arrested in Nacogdoches County and booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.
At this time, one suspect still remains at large.
