Crime Stoppers of Lufkin needs your help identifying the suspects in a check fraud case where checks passed in Lufkin for gift cards used in Houston.

At the beginning of March, a Crockett resident learned hundreds of dollars was taken his checking account without his permission. Investigators found on February 22, an unidentified woman used the victim’s check at a Lufkin business to buy two gift cards worth a total of $900; the gift cards were later used for purchases in the Houston area.

Video cameras at the business captured images of a person using the stolen check. The alleged thief is a thin, black female with very short hair, who wore a pink short-sleeve shirt with a blue collar, “skinny” jeans and white tennis shoes. She carried a large, black purse with brown or red straps and a large Hello Kitty wallet.

The woman was driven to the business in a grey four-door car, possibly a 2013 or 2014 Nissan Altima. The driver remained in the car and picked up the woman as soon as she left the business.
