Whitehouse, Tx (KETK) — Authorities are investigating a body found off Highway 110 near Whitehouse.
According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, the body of a white male was found in a wooded area behind Nipper's Quality Auto Works just north of County Road 2125, or Moser Lane, at around 2:18 p.m. Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3 Judge James Meredith has sent the body to Dallas for autopsy.
The body was found by an employee at the auto shop who was working on a fence, said Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith. The body was fully clothed and in a decomposed state.
It is unknown if foul play is suspected. More information is expected Tuesday or Wednesday. A cause of death has not been determined.
Sheriff Smith would not speculate if the body is missing Whitehouse teenager, 14-year-old Jacob Hamilton Garrett.
