Authorities on scene of reported robbery of ETX bank, suspect description released

Tyler, Texas (KETK) —
According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, deputies are on scene at a reported bank robbery.
At 7:06 a.m., dispatch received a 911 call reporting a bank robbery at the Austin Bank, located at 16909 Highway 155 South. The suspect is described as a black male with a small build. Officials say he had an ace bandage on his face when he held a female employee at gunpoint when she arrived for work. He told the woman to take him into the bank and the employee agreed. He left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash driving a white, 2009 Cadillac CTS like the one pictured below with license plate number TX CJ7Z230.
"Smith County Sheriff's Office Detectives are working in conjunction with the FBI and the Texas Rangers on this robbery," said Sheriff Larry Smith. "We need the public to be on the lookout for this vehicle and please call us immediately if they see it."
