A young girl in Kilgore had her bike stolen for the second time just a day after police returned it to her.

At 10:30 p.m., Kilgore Police received a report of a stolen bicycle from the 700 block of Florey Street on Tuesday. Authorities learned the stolen property was the same bike returned the previous day.

"It made that little girl's day to get her bicycle back, so a lot of the officers are taking this personal. We're gonna make an extra effort to get that bicycle back and find out who did it," said Kilgore Police Assistant Chief Roman Roberson.

The victim stated the pink bicycle was chained to the front porch when it was taken.

According to the victim's grandmother, the bike was found filthy and returned by officers in sparkling condition with an added serial number. They also included an additional pink bear.
