Crime Stoppers of Lufkin is seeking the public's help in identifying an alleged wallet thief.

Shortly after 5:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 05, 2014, a man followed a woman out of a convenience store on West Frank Avenue in Lufkin. The woman had paid for her purchases and was carrying her wallet tucked under her arm. As she stepped from a curb onto the parking lot, the wallet fell to the ground. When she reached the fuel pumps and her vehicle she noticed that she had dropped the wallet but before she could walk back to the front of the store, the thief had picked up the wallet, carried it to his vehicle, and drove away.

Months have passed but the wallet and its contents have not been returned to the victim.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white or Hispanic man and he is shown in the above image pulled from the store’s security video. At the time of the theft, the suspect wore a camouflage-pattern jacket and black knit cap. He was driving a light blue, late model Ford Mustang with chrome or polished aluminum rims.
