Deputies arrest teen in connection with Smith Co. burglary

Flint, TExas (KETK) — Authorities arrested a Flint teenager Thursday after it was discovered he was allegedly responsible for an April burglary.
According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, a deputy and K-9 officer took into custody Broderick Willis, 18, of Flint, on a warrant in the 18000 block of Briarcrest. The suspect is charged with burglary of a habitation. The warrant was issued by Judge Kerry Russell of the 17th State District Court.
Willis allegedly committed a burglary at a home on April 24, 2014, located at Holcomb Circle in the southwestern part of Smith County. Among the items taken were several credit cards, a leather wallet and a purse.
Since his arrest, he has also been charged with three probation violations, including theft of a firearm, theft of property, and possession of a controlled substance.
Willis is currently being held in the Smith County Jail on $100,000 bond.
