A man wanted for allegedly killing two people in Dallas, Texas, was arrested Tuesday evening after a lengthy standoff in west Shreveport.

At around 5:30 p.m., multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the 3000 block of Drexel Street when it was learned Patrick Russell, 21, of Shreveport, was inside a home there. The suspect refused to leave the house and proceeded to barricade himself inside.

Following several attempts to get Russell out of the home, a Shreveport Police Department and Caddo-Shreveport crisis team arrived. During this time, nearby residents were asked to remain inside their homes while a few were temporarily relocated.

After three hours, the murder suspect emerged from the house and surrendered to police without incident. He was booked into the Caddo Parish Correctional Center on a Texas warrant and faces additional charges in Caddo Parish from an unrelated event.

It's unclear at this time when Russell will be returned to Texas on murder charges. His bond has been set at 1 million dollars.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
