E. Texas man accused of chasing wife with bat, arrested for assault
Lufkin, Texas (KETK) — An East Texas man was jailed Tuesday night after he attacked his wife, Lufkin Police said.
According to Lufkin Police Department Lt. David Young, Reginald Crawford, 46, was arrested on a charge of assault causing bodily injury to a family member. At 7:00 p.m., officers responded to the scene in the 2600 block of South First Street on reports of a disturbance.
When police made it to the home, they discovered a man had injured his wife. Authorities also found a knot on her head and blood on her lip. A neighbor added they saw Crawford chasing the victim through a parking lot with a metal bat.
Crawford was taken into custody and booked into the Angelina County Jail. He was released on $1,500 bond.
