Two wanted fugitives from East Texas were caught far from home Friday morning.

At 10:30 a.m., or 5:30 a.m. Hawaii time, Tarius Manuere, 43, and Noah Manuere, 40, both of Corsicana, were arrested in Honolulu, Hawaii.

According to the Corsicana Police Department, local law enforcement, along with Homeland Security, took the brothers into custody at Hawaii International Airport.

The men were wanted for aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first degree felony. Justice of the Peace Kirby Hill issued a warrant for their arrest on January 8, 2013.

Officials say the fugitives were preparing to depart on a United Airlines flight to the island of Majuro, which is part of a group of small islands in the South Pacific known as the Federated States of Micronesia, when authorities arrested them without incident.

The U.S. does not currently have an extradition treaty with the Federated States of Micronesia.

Pending extradition to Corsicana, the brothers are being held in the Honolulu Police Department Jail.
