ETX business owner robbed at knifepoint, truck stolen
Lufkin, TX — Authorities are investigating the robbery of an East Texas business owner that happened Monday night in Lufkin.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., the owner of Los Regios, Beatrice Hernandez, of Corrigan, was allegedly assaulted by a man holding a large knife and wearing a black bandanna over his face, according to the Lufkin Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of North Raguet to reports of the aggravated robbery. When they arrived, Hernandez told police a man, possibly Hispanic, had entered the business through the unlocked back door, then demanded money, threatening her with a knife.
The robber pushed her into the bathroom, but she was able to lock herself inside. After hearing the thief leave, the victim came out of the bathroom to find her purse's items stolen, along with her truck outside. The vehicle is described as a white 2000 Dodge Dakota.
No arrests have been made and the case is under investigation.
