ETX car thief leads police on foot chase

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office has arrested a center man after a brief foot chase. Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that a 2006 black Cadillac vehicle was stolen in Center, Texas on Thursday morning. Center Police Department placed an attempt to locate out on the vehicle which was broadcasted to all police agencies.

Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office observed the vehicle traveling on highway 59S, north bound into the city of Nacogdoches. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the motor vehicle on South Street inside the city limits of Nacogdoches. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle exited the stolen car and ran on foot into a wooded area. Officers began a foot chase, but lost the subject in a wooded area. Officers later spotted the suspect inside a local convenience store. As officers approached, the suspect ran on foot. After a short foot chase the suspect was apprehended.

Marcus Issac , 17 years of age from Center, Texas was transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail. He was charged with Evading arrest and Detention. The Center Police Department has also filed charges for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle a state jail felony. The vehicle has been recovered and will be returned to the rightful owner.
