Lufkin, Texas (KETK) — An East Texas man was arrested after leading police on a car chase. The suspect later told authorities he kept driving because he did not want his car towed.
On Monday at 8:21 p.m., a Lufkin police officer spotted a vehicle with a headlight out. When he initiated a traffic stop, the driver refused and kept driving. The officer followed the car from the 1200 block of South Timberland Drive to his home on Lee Lane, according to the Lufkin Police Department.
The driver, Marcus Servin, 17, of Lufkin, told police he did not stop because he knew he was going to jail and did not want the car towed. The officer reported finding a marijuana grinder inside the vehicle.
Servin was charged with evading arrest, no driver license and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail totaled $6,000.
