An East Texas county commissioner was involved in the capture of a teenager burglarizing a home Monday.

The Trinity Police Department received a call from Trinity County Precinct 3 Commissioner Neal Smith about a friend who had seen a juvenile walk around a home in the 800 block of North Robb Street. The friend stated he felt the teen's actions were suspicious.

After making the call to police, Commissioner Smith met his friend at the home. Just as officers were arriving, Commissioner Smith and his friend caught the juvenile climbing into a back window. They held the 13-year-old and turned him over to police.

Investigators determined the juvenile is already on probation for other offenses. The teenager will be transferred to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center where he will be held pending further order from a judge.
