ETX employee busted by alert loss prevention officer
Lufkin, Texas (KETK) — Thanks to the alertness of a loss prevetion officer, a Lufkin thief was caught allegedly stealing hundreds of dollars worth of items from a local store.
According to the Lufkin Police Department, police were dispatched to a business on the 3000 block of South John Redditt Drive at 8:15 p.m. on Sunday. When authorities arrived, they learned an employee had been caught taking merchandise without paying.
The accused thief, Kiera Sudds, 17, of Diboll, allegedly took items into the back of the store until closing time, however, a loss prevention officer spotted her in the act. She was eventually busted when she tried to leave the business without buying the items.
The suspect was detained and admitted to stealing the products valued at more than $300. She was charged with theft, and her bail was set at $1,500.
