A wanted Lufkin man was arrested Monday after he ran from police and was later found hiding in a home's backyard.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Ward Street Park on a reported in-progress disturbance. When police arrived at the scene, they attempted to detain a suspect, later identified as Sashoun Denicholas Brown, 22, of Lufkin, but he ran from the area.

Officers chased after Brown and eventually found him in a children's playhouse behind a Cunningham Drive residence.

Brown was booked into the Angelina County Jail on two Angelina County arrest warrants for theft and for evading arrest. Bail is set at $1,500.

What amuses me is how many of these crooks think they are smart. And the more times they have been in jail the 'smarter' they are.
