ETX jailer faces charges for inappropriately touching female inmates
Angelina County, Texas (KETK) — After an investigation that began in May 2012, charges have been filed against an Angelina County jailer who had inappropriate relationships with female inmates.
Stevon E. Crowder, 53, has been booked into the Nacogdoches Jail on charges, eight of which are "official oppression" charges and five are "civil rights violations."
The charges are not based on rape, but upon the fact inmates were touched in an inappropriate manner.
The investigation covered several counties, including Henderson County and Burnet County, because many of the people involved had been transferred or had gone to prison in another area. 12 female inmates and four of Crowder's co-workers were interviewed throughout the investigation.
