ETX juvenile charged with setting home ablaze, online impersonation
Nacogdoches County, Tx (KETK) — A juvenile was arrested Wednesday morning after he allegedly burned down a house in Nacogdoches County.
Investigators arrived at the scene on Highway 21 E following reports of a trailer house engulfed in flames around 7:00 a.m., said Sheriff Jason Bridges. After the blaze was extinguished, detectives determined the home may have been intentionally set. Nacogdoches fire officials confirmed their suspicious later in the day.
Evidence led deputies to a juvenile, whom is under the age of 15, and he was questioned by authorities. During questioning, the suspect admitted to setting the home on fire.
The juvenile was arrested and charged with arson, a second degree felony, and on-line impersonation F-3. The online impersonation charged stemmed from an ongoing investigation. Deputies learned the juvenile was allegedly using text messaging and social media sites to send vulgar messages and claiming those messages were coming from other people.
The juvenile was taken to the Greg County juvenile Detention Center.
