A Pollok man was arrested Tuesday night for public intoxication after he was found snoozing underneath a vehicle at a local country club.

Shortly before 8:45 p.m., Lufkin officers were dispatch to the Crown Colony Country Club parking lot, located in the 900 block of Crown Colony Drive, to reports of a man asleep beneath a truck.

Authorities found the man, later identified as Michael R. Ecker, of Pollok, and woke him up. The suspect crawled out from below the pickup and told officers he fell asleep there because he had locked his keys inside the vehicle.

A search of the man produced a concealed handgun inside the waistband of his pants. Ecker was arrested for public intoxication and unlawful carry of a weapon. He was then booked into the Angelina County Jail. His bond is set at $2,000.
