ETX man arrested after allegedly burglarizing home while looking for arrowheads

Etoile, Texas (KETK) — An East Texas man was taken into custody Thursday after looking for arrowheads near a lake turned into a reported home burglary.
Timothy Becker, of Marshall, was arrested for leading authorities on a manhunt after allegedly burglarizing a house.
The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office and the Nacogdoches County Constable's Office Precinct 4 responded to the Nacalina subdivision located on County Road 467 in Etoile, in reference to a suspicious suspect.
Upon arrival, deputies detained three suspects for questioning after officials found a house had been burglarized. While deputies were collecting property stolen from the house hidden in the wooded area, Becker was able to escape from the patrol unit and took off running while he was handcuffed.
Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that more law enforcement was called to the scene to include the Texas Department of Public Safety, Precinct 3 Constable and the Angelina County Sheriff's Office. Officials set up a perimeter around the subdivision and a manhunt for Becker began. After about an hour Becker was seen in a wooded area near Lake Sam Rayburn. Officers chased him before he ran into the lake..
Becker was caught by officers and taken into custody without incident, along with the two other wanted for questioning.
Investigators conducted interviews with all three suspects and during the interview it was determined the other two suspects, who did not run from authorities, had nothing to do with the burglary and they were released.
Becker was arrested for Burglary of a Habitation, Escape from Custody, Criminal Mischief and Evading Arrest or Detention.
All property that was taken from the house has been recovered and will be returned to the owner.
Sheriff Bridges said the three who were detained went to the Nacalina Subdivision to look for arrow heads around the lake. Becker drifted away from the group and committed the burglary in which he has confessed to.
Becker was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.
