A Martinsville man was arrested Thursday afternoon after breaking into a building and stealing several power tools and equipment.

Trevor Akridge, 18, was arrested at the scene and charged with burglary of a building a state jail felony offense.

Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that Deputies responded to a burglary call on Fm 95N in Martinsville.

Upon arrival deputies were able to track evidence back to the suspect residence. Deputies identified a suspect in the case that lived near the scene of where the burglary had occurred. Deputies questioned the subject who confessed to breaking into the building.

Deputies on the scene were able to recover all the property that was stolen from the building after finding the property inside the suspect’s residence. Power tools, air compressor, table saw, and two rifles were recovered from the scene.

Sheriff Bridges stated that Akridge will also have another burglary of a building charge filed on him this week, after Akridge has also confessed to breaking into the same building a year ago. Akridge was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.
