An East Texas man is behind bars after authorities say he made sexual advances toward a teenage relative.

According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, patrol deputies and detectives responded to a call regarding alleged sexual indecency of a man with a teenage girl.

The-15-year-old victim stated she had been with her relative Brandon Michael Stahl, 25,of Overton, near a boat ramp on Lake Tyler when he began making sexual advances toward her.

Through the victim’s statement, Smith County detectives determined Stahl had allegedly been indecent with the minor.

Judge Christi Kennedy of the 114th District Court signed the warrant for Stahl for Indecency with a Child, Sexual Contact.

A short time after the incident occurred, Stahl was arrested and booked into the Rusk County Jail on an unrelated charge of DWI.

He is now being held on both charges in the Rusk County Jail and his bond has been set at $80,000.

Stahl was previously arrested in October, 2008 for military desertion from the United States Army.
