ETX man caught with $4,000 in counterfeit cash

The Nacogdoches County Constable's Office has arrested a local man who allegedly had more than $4,000 in counterfeit money.

On Friday, constables, along with the Department of Public Safety Narcotics Division, executed a search warrant on Scarlet Oak Street near old Lufkin Road at around 3:00 p.m.

Detectives tell KETK they have been investigating a suspect, Marcus Tutt, 34, of Nacogdoches, for several months. During the investigation, authorities bought several thousand dollars worth of counterfeit cash from Tuft.

Officials say the found the $4,000 stashed way in Tutt's master bedroom. He was arrested on scene.

Tutt is charged with forgery, a 3rd felony. He was transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail.
