ETX man dead after serious injury to stomach after assault

Liberty City, Texas (KETK) — An East Texas man is dead after suffering a major wound to his stomach early Monday morning.
On Monday, June 24th, around 1:50 a.m., Kilogre deputies responded to 642 McQueen Road on an aggravated assault call.
Upon arrival, Jeremy Dewayne Miller, 27, was found in the home with a serious injury to his abdomen.
EMS transported Miller to a hospital in Longview where he died around 2:50 a.m.
The nature of the wound is not being released at this time. Justice of the Peace Arthur Fort ordered an autopsy at the Forensic Medical Center in Tyler.
Gregg County Investigators, Kilgore Police Detectives and the Texas Ranger assigned to Gregg County are currently working on the case.
Persons of interest have been identified but no arrests have been made at this time.
Additional information may be available upon completion of the autopsy.
