An East Texas man is facing multiple charges after leading police on a chase Sunday morning.

According to Kristie Brian with the Longview Police Department, Alton Dean Jester, 27, of Longview, is facing charges including evading arrest and unauthorized use of a vehicle after a high-speed chase resulted in a crash.

Around 7:00 a.m., Sunday morning, officials were dispatched to a car chase on Estes Parkway in Longview. Jester began driving toward Hallsville when he crashed into a power pole. He then left the vehicle and began running on foot before eventually being caught by officers.

Jester is no stranger to Gregg County law enforcement, having been previously jailed for the following:

  • Unauthorized use of vehicle

Jester was taken to a local hospital after the crash when he claimed he was ill and to be checked on as a precautionary.
