ETX man fires gun at estranged wife's friends
Lufkin, Texas (KETK) — An East Texas man was charged with three felony charges after he fired a gun at his estranged wife's friends.
According to the Lufkin Police Department, at 2:00 a.m., 911 dispatchers received calls of gunshots in the 1100 block of Johnson Street. Authorities arrived at the home in question and spoke to a woman there who said she was being dropped off by friends when her husband began firing rounds from a pistol at the vehicle.
The woman also stated her friends sped away from the area and were found a short distance away unharmed. Officers found a flat tire caused by a bullet allegedly fired from her husband, Antonio Balderas, 39, of Lufkin. Casings were found nearby where the shooting occurred.
Balderas was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, due to the number of victims. The wife turned the pistol over to officers, along with the rounds as evidence.
The suspect was booked into the Angelina County Jail. His bail was set at $30,000.
