ETX man given life sentence in beating, burning death of Ronnie Gammage

Upshur County, Texas (Longview News-Journal) —
A capital murder defendant pleaded guilty today and begins serving a life sentence without parole for the December kidnapping and killing of a Longview man.
Daniel Paul Jones’ sentence today was part of a plea agreement accepted in Upshur County’s 115th District Court.
Investigators have said Jones, along with Sarah Haslam of Longview and Andrew Norwine of Arlington robbed 27-year-old Ronnie Joe Gammage and later kidnapped and beat him before slicing his throat and setting him on fire.
Haslam and Norwine remain in the Upshur County Jail awaiting trial.
