Nacogodches County, Texas (KETK) — The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man after they say he beat a dog to death with a hammer Friday afternoon.
According to Sheriff Jason Bridges, authorities arrested Bob Miner, 56, after they responded to a 911 call from a 10-year-old child who said he was watching the suspect beat his dog.
The child called 911 crying and said the neighbor was killing the family’s dog. Deputies arrived on scene in the 5000 block of South Street and launched an investigation into the killing of the dog. Miner claims he brought the dog into his yard and killed it because it had mange.
The suspect was also upset because he says the dog had been defecating in his yard.
Miner was arrested at the scene for cruelty to animals and was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on $15,000 bond.
