Nacogdoches, Texas (KETK) — The investigation into a reported Nacogdoches County kidnapping has resulted in the arrest of a woman for giving a false report to a Peace Officer.
Nacogdoches Police arrested Melrina Jessica Stemn, 23, of Nacogdoches, Tuesday on a warrant.
Stemn reported, Monday, September 30, she was walking along the 1300 block of East Starr Avenue around 9:00 p.m., when she was approached by a black pickup truck. The driver told Stemn to get in and she reported seeing a handgun in the truck.
Stemn told officials she got in the truck, and the "suspect" drove them around Nacogdoches for a period of time. She then claimed she was touched in a manner she felt to be offensive.
After investigating the report for over a week, detectives determined the report was fabricated.
After the report was proven to be false, Stemn was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.
