The Crockett Police Department has located a suspect who, in February 2013, allegedly left her children unattended in her car.

Maria Espinosa, was originally arrested and charged with theft.

A case was later presented to a Houston County Grand Jury and Espinosa was indicted on three counts of abandoning or endangering a child. The three children Espinosa is thought to have abandoned age from three to seven years old.

On February 23, officers with the Crockett Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of East Loop 304 in reference to children being left unattended in a vehicle. An off duty Crockett Police Officer noticed that a car parked next to his vehicle was occupied with several young children and no supervision. The officer contacted dispatch and had them dispatch an on duty officer to Wal-Mart at which time he showed them the vehicle.

On Friday, officers located Espinosa at her home at 121 Rose Street in Crockett. Espinosa was transported to the Houston County Jail where she was booked and charged without incident. Her bond was set at $5,000.
