After following up on an anonymous tip, the Hawkins Police Department tells KETK Kilgore robbery suspect and capital murder parolee, Randall L. Wikert, has been captured at the local Sonic.

Authorities say the capture happened around 10:15 p.m., when they believe Wikert may have stopped at the Sonic in the 300 block of North Beaulah Street to get something to eat or drink.

Wikert, 60, has been identified as the suspect who robbed a Kilgore bank, Tuesday afternoon.

Upon police arrival, a teller reported a person described as a white male, thin, in his 50’s wearing a light grey hoodie, dark grey toboggan type cap, one black glove and blue jeans entered the bank armed with a knife. Wikert took an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller and fled. Wilkert was parolled in April 2010 stemming from a June 1980 murder for which he was serving a life sentence, according to the Kilgore Police Department.

Wikert was arrested by a DPS Trooper and taken to the Wood County Jail.
