Identities of victims in hospital stabbing released

The identity of the victims in Tuesday's fatal stabbing at Good Shepherd Ambulatory Surgical Center in Longview has been released by the family of the deceased to KETK.

The registered nurse who was killed in the incident is Gail Sandidge, of Longview. According to Sandidge's Facebook page, she was a 1972 graduate of Henderson High School and enjoyed reading, sewing and being with her family. She began working at GSMC in 1979.

Family members tell KETK they are handling it as well as they can given the situation. Sandidge loved nursing and caring for people.

The others stabbed in the incident at the hospital were Karen Bobo, Harris Teel, Teresa AlIison and Melissa Simms.

Teel, who is listed as being in critical condition, was in the waiting room while his son was undergoing a procedure, when he was stabbed in the chest. He has undergone surgery to repair the damage.

GSASC is a freestanding, independent Surgical Center connected by an air-conditioned sky bridge to Good Shepherd Medical Center.

  • Plastic and Cosmetic surgery
  • Orthopaedic surgery
  • Podiatric surgery
  • Gynecological surgery
  • Pain management therapy
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic gastrointestinal (GI) procedures
  • Ophthalmologic surgery
  • Urology surgery

KETK will update the identities of the other victims as officials release them.
