Jury selection for Kaufman Co. murders set to begin
Rockwall, Texas (KETK) — Jury selection is scheduled to begin Friday for the murder trials of Kim and Eric Williams, NBCDFW reports.
The husband and wife are accused of murdering Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mike Hasee, District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife, Cynthia McLelland.
Hasse, 58, was gunned down at the Kaufman County courthouse on Thursday, January 31, 2013. The McLelland's were found dead in their home on Saturday, March 30, 2013. The pair was also killed by gunfire.
At one point, Governor Perry doubled a reward leading to the arrest of their killers to $200,000.
On April 18, the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office announced charges of capital murder against the Williams. Eric Williams was already in official custody for making terroristic threats at the time. His wife confessed to the acts the previous day.
The trial will take place in Rockwall County and is set for October 20, 2014.
