A Kansas man is facing sexual assault charges after officials say he had sex with an underaged girl multiple times.

According to the Smith County District Attorney's Office, Matthew Howell, 26, contacted an East Texas girl when she was only 13-years-old via the internet. When the girl turned 16-years-old, Howell came all the way to Tyler to meet up with her. Howell reportedly gave the teen presents and had sexual relations with her on more than one occasion.

Howell faced computer crimes in his native Kansas for online crimes with the teenager, as well.

The suspect was indicted on October 10, 2013, and jury selection for the alleged criminal began Tuesday in the Smith County 7th Judicial Distinct Court.

The jury is deliberating the fate of Howell and if convicted he faces up to 20 years in prison.

Wow....... This man is a sexual predator. Legal age for consent is 17 in Texas. Unfortunately, "research, statistics, and facts" can be manipulated in many ways to legitimize just about anything, in an effort to affect beliefs and opinions. Your choice to identify yourself as immoral is interesting. Operationally define "we". Because "we" does not include me. Holding him accountable for his choices, ridiculous....seriously?? Did you attend the trial and hear the evidence? Moron.......hmmm

And the pundits cry out for free condoms and more sex education in our teaching institutions. How about a little concentration on moral behavior and good ethics. Apparently no one cares.

Here are the results of our permissive behavior as a Nation:
CHICAGO (AP) - At least one in four teenage girls nationwide has a sexually transmitted disease, or more than 3 million teens, according to the first study of its kind in this age group.
A virus that causes cervical cancer is by far the most common sexually transmitted infection in teen girls aged 14 to 19, while the highest overall prevalence is among black girls - nearly half the blacks studied had at least one STD.

How ridiculous - feeding and housing this moron for 20 years because he has been doing something that is extremely commonplace. Just read the following facts:
•Fewer than 2% of adolescents have had sex by the time they reach their 12th birthday. But adolescence is a time of rapid change. Only 16% of teens have had sex by age 15, compared with one-third of those aged 16, nearly half (48%) of those aged 17, 61% of 18-year-olds and 71% of 19-year-olds - Get real America -we are an immoral Nation.
