Kilgore business owner accused of buying stolen metal

A Kilgore man was arrested following a Thursday morning investigation, which revealed he was knowingly purchasing stolen scrap metal, police said.

At 10:30 a.m., officers conducted an operation to confirm beliefs the business owner at Cisneros Scrap, located at 820 SH 135 North, was buying stolen property. Based on evidence recovered in the sting, Jose Cisneros-Tamoyo, 60, of Kilgore, was taken into custody. Authorities were able to develop the suspicion through interviews with person(s) who had committed scrap metal theft and other investigation techniques.

The suspect was charged with felony theft and metal recyclers fail to furnish.

Cisneros-Tamyo was booked into the Gregg County Jail. His bail was set at $5,000.
