Vandals have been defacing the downtown Longview area with graffiti over the last few months, but that should soon no longer be a problem.

According to Longview Public Information Officer Kristi Brian, their department was able to solve multiple cases recently after receiving a tip from a local resident.

Authorities encourage others to be just as aware when suspicious activity may be occurring. If you do see something that appears out of place, please call and report it immediately at (903) 237-1170.

Suspicious activity can include: skateboarders in areas posted with no trespassing signs, people on top of the roofs of buildings and cars parked at closed businesses or people walking around those businesses, according to the Longview Police Department.

As of this time, no arrests have been made by law enforcement and the cases have been turned over to the district attorney's office.
