A Lufkin resident was caught by surprise Tuesday morning when he opened his door to a burglar and was attacked.

At around 6 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of S. Timberland Drive on reports of a possible burglary in process, according to Lufkin Police Department Sergeant David Casper. When authorities made it to the scene, the victim told police he answered a knock on the door and cracked it to see who was outside. At that moment, a man pushed his way in and punched the victim in the mouth.

The victim was able to give a description of the suspect, whom was later identified as Kenneth E. Boone, 32. He was found in the area by law enforcement and positively identified by the victim and two others. Boone was arrested and charge with burglary of a habitation.

Officers also found a stolen gun, meth, drug paraphernalia, cellphones and other electronics around vehicles in the parking lot. Investigators are looking into the property and other charges may be added.

Boone was booked into the Angelina County Jail. His bail was set at $7,500.

Home Invasion isn't a law. However, Robbery would be the correct charge in this case.

Next time this happens to anyone. Have a Conceal and Carry and shoot on site. Sick of these drug crazed people hurting and killing others. Enough!

Drug addict... as usual desperate people do desperate things.

And that is why when my wife or I answer the door, I have my S&W right behind my back.

Why was he not charged with HOME INVASION????
