Lufkin PD arrests 3 teens accused of robbing 2 at local business

Three teenagers are behind bars after they allegedly broke into a vehicle and stole money from inside a truck at a Lufkin business.

According to Lufkin police reports, at around 1 a.m. on Thursday, officers received a call for help from two men who were being chased by suspects armed with a handgun.

The victims claimed they had parked a truck in the McDonald's parking lot on South Timberland Drive and went inside the restaurant, only to return and find three people had broken into the vehicle.

After the suspects sprinted away from the truck into a nearby SUV, the complainants reported 300 dollars had been taken and the speakers were unsuccessfully removed.

The victims then followed the SUV while talking to officials with the Lufkin Police Department. During this time, the suspects pulled their vehicle next to the victim's truck and pointed a gun at them.

The complainants stopped following the suspects, but they gunman and his cohorts were quickly found and arrested in the 900 block of South Chestnut Street.

The robbers were identified as DaAnthony M. Hardiman, 18, Jacosky T. Robertson, 17, and Robert C. Woodard, 18. Officers found on the teenagers a black air pistol, which was identical to a .45 handgun and metal knuckles.

Robertson, Hardiman, and Woodard were arrested for the offenses of prohibited weapon "knuckles" and robbery. The offense of robbery applies because the suspects, in the course of committing theft, threatened or placed another in fear of imminent bodily injury or death.
