Man arrested on money laundering charges of nearly $800,000 after traffic stop near Tyler

On June 11, 2013 a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper stopped a vehicle on Interstate 20 in Smith County near the city of Tyler for a traffic violation.

The driver, identified as 68-year old Glenn Richards of Florida, was arrested and booked into the Smith County Jail on charges of money laundering after a search of his vehicle led to the discovery of multiple bundles of U.S. currency totaling $795,506.00.

This is an ongoing investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
