Police arrest Lufkin woman hiding pot in 'crotch area'
Lufkin, Texas (KETK) — Police arrested a Lufkin woman Friday morning after it was discovered she was trying to hide drugs in her "crotch area."
At 1:04 a.m., an officer pulled over a car for a traffic violation in the 1000 block of Rowe Avenue. When the suspect stepped out of the vehicle, she appeared to drop something on the ground and step on it. The officer believed they smelled marijuana at this time.
When the officer asked to search the car and a purse, the woman agreed, but removed an item from her bag and placed it in her crotch area. The suspect was then arrested for no driver's license and admitted the hidden item was a bag of marijuana.
The woman, later identified as Rosalyn Y. Wood, 36, of Lufkin, was taken to the Angelina County Jail, and the bag of pot was recovered. She was then charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bail was set at $1,000.
