An East Texas man is behind bars after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriends house and assaulted her.

According to the Gladewater Police Department, Damian Daniels, 20, of Gladewater, was jailed Wednesday after reportedly breaking into his ex-girlfriends home where he began biting her and hurt her leg, armpit and wrist. Police say he also prevented her from calling 911 by breaking her phone. Police say Daniels broke into the woman's home while she was not there and waited for her to return.

This is not Daniels first run-in with the law, having been previously arrested for the following:

  • Assault causing bodily injury (2)

  • Possession of marijuana

  • Contempt of court

Daniels was charged with burglary of a habitation, interfering with an emergency call and assault causing bodily injury, according to Gregg County judicial records.

He is currently being held in the Gregg County Jail on $20,000 bond..
