A purse slinging, pink robe-wearing bandit has been arrested after a Monday night East Texas gas station robbery.

According to Naples Police Chief Jim Grisham, Samuel Wilkerson was arrested 12 minutes after dispatch received the call concerning the aggravated robbery.

Chief Grisham tells KETK, Wilkerson walked into the Country Express gas station with a handgun and was wearing a pink robe, carrying a pink purse with his face covered by a mask. He demanded money from the store clerk before locking her in the restroom. While she was trapped in the restroom, she proceeded to dial 911 from her cell phone.

Wilkerson left the store on foot prior to officers arriving on scene. After seeing security tapes, Wilkerson was quickly located and arrested, but had ditched the robe and mask.

Officers found the robe and mask nearby, along with the money taken from the store, and Wilkerson was arrested for aggravated robbery. The stolen money was returned to the store and no injuries were reported.

"I am very proud of my guys," said Chief Grisham. "We got the guy in 12 minutes and I couldn't be happier."
