Repeat offenders lead Nacogdoches Co. deputies on ATV chase
Nacogdoches, Texas (KETK) — Two arrests in connection with a stolen ATV were made Wednesday in Nacogdoches County.
Deputies were dispatched to County Road 710 in reference to a suspicious vehicle being parked on private land, according to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office. Upon arrival, law enforcement identified the vehicle belonging to two known suspects in the area whom had recently been arrested by authorities and were out on bond. Deputies learned the suspects were possibly riding around on an ATV believed recently stolen out of Nacogdoches.
Officials patrolled the area and found the two suspects on County Road 723. Both men fled on the ATV and a pursuit began. The chase lasted for about five minutes while the suspects went through several private yards and county roads attempting to get away from authorities. Deputies were able to end the pursuit on County Road 724, and both suspects were taken into custody.
Trevor Knigge, 23, and Jessica Kerr, 28, both of Nacogdoches County, were arrested for theft and evading arrest with a vehicle. Knigge was also charged with resisting arrest. Both were booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.
Sheriff Jason Bridges stated prior to Wednesday's arrest, both suspects were out on bond from a previous arrest in Nacogdoches County. Knigge has been arrested four different times in March of this year and has made bond on those charges. He is also currently on probation on another arrest from the first quarter of 2014. Kerr was also out on bond on two other felony arrests in January and March of this year.
The recovered ATV has been valued at $20,000 and was turned over to the Nacogdoches Police Department.
