The Tyler Police Department is looking for a robber who sprayed mace at a local employee leaving her job early Wednesday morning.

At 12:07 a.m., authorities were dispatched to the 4000 block of South Broadway. Officers learned an Arby's employee was leaving work and getting into her vehicle on the driver's side when an unknown man grabbed the door to keep it from closing.

The man then sprayed the victim with mace and pulled her from the vehicle and began digging for valuables on the passenger side. During this time, the woman ran to the McDonalds next door where an employee called 911.

The attacker was gone from the scene by the time police arrived. Nothing appeared to be stolen from the vehicle.

Police were told the victim was a man wearing all black with a black ski mask that had a skull print on the front. The victim suffered no other injuries outside of the peppery spray effects.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000 or Tyler/Smith County Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF. Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any other felony case.
